The Battle Gear

•May 30, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So I hear you guys are looking to play airsoft. Well first your going to need a gun so lets get you one. It all depends on what type of person you want to be. Do you want to be a sniper, assault, or a support man. If your going to be a sniper here is the layout i recommend for you. I would buy a L96 Bolt action (spring) sniper rifle.

It is a great, gun my friend has it and it is very accurate, cheap not cheaply made though. You’ll need to get a scope, some times they have a package deal where it comes with a scope, extra magazine, a loader, and a bi-pod. I do recommend you buy all of that for your gun. For your gear it is really up to you but i recommend after getting your BDU gear get a ghillie suit or make one. This will allowing you to be completely hidden in the grass. Get a color of Ghillie and BDU that matches your landscape snowy, rocky, desert land, grass land, wood land, etc. IF you don’t feel like being a sniper that is ok you can be and assault man. For this is recommend you getting and M4 Rifle.

It is up to you what brand you get and what accessories you buy for it. I say you buy at least a scope for it. For your gear i would say that your going to want o buy a vest that has a lot of pouches so that you can hold you mags, clips, grenades, tools, and such in them for when you need them. Get a BDU set, also one that matches your surroundings. The rest such as helmets, boots, gloves, and more are up to you. If your going to be a heavy gunner i recommend you buying a SAW. It is more of an automatic weapon that you can spray and get a bunch of people out at once. It is fairly accurate. For this i think you should get the same gear as the assault man, except for the vest. I say you get a LBV ( Load Bearing Vest ). Every thing else is up to you. Everyone should have a sidearm (pistol). I would say buy a Gas Blow Back but if those are to expensive then just get a spring. Good Luck i hope this helped you out and have fun!!

Airsoft Wars

There are three basic type of “war” battles in airsoft. You could play CQC, which is Close Quarters Combat which you are outside trying to take out the other side. It is easier for you to be the attacking team because you can hide in grassy parts, wooded parts, basically any type of land that you have you get the gear for it and you can blend in with it. Most of the time in this game play there will be a building that one team has to raid from the outside, but the twist is that they have to go through the woods or whatever land type you have to get there. Now the other team does NOT have to stay inside the building they can go outside and hide. Then you have CQB, which is Close Quarters Battle. In this type of game play both teams are going to be placed in the same building most of the time and they will have to battle each other clearing rooms and what not to win. This game play is more like SWAT raiding a house. One team will hide, barricade themselves in rooms and then what for the other team to break in. So now if you don’t like either of CQC or CQB there is the Reenactmentsfor you history buffs out there. This is were you can play WWI, WWII, War in Iraq, etc. Most of the people who play this have the weapons from that war such as a M1 Garand for WWII. ALL of these game plays can be played inside or outside it is all up to the field owner. You can play each of them and see which one you will like or you could just go out in your back yard and play but with these types of game play i believe you’ll have a better time because they are more realistic. So GO out and HAVE FUN… BE SAFE.

The War

The great thing about airsoft is the battles are much more intense. You have to think like a soldier, act like a soldier, and be a soldier. I have spoken to a few people and some did not even bother to answer my questions but 1 person did. She had said ” I dont mind them playing airsoft becuase they are old enough and know the risk”. I had asked her a few question about the realism in the game and how you have guns that are replicas of real  ones. She came back with ” I do have some worry about that becuase i dont like how they are using the guns and I just dont want him to think that its is “cool” to be in the army”. Now just let me say that we all know the struggle and the horride site soldier see and go through but there is something about holding a gun, gripping it tightly and using your stratigies to take down an enemy. You have fellow soldiers ( your buddies ) supporting you and covering you. ” I see your point, but it is just too much like war” she replied. We continued talking for a bit about why we play, and how it is safer then going out and getting a real gun. We had to end the interview a little bit early but she had told me that she does not mind at all that we play airsoft but she just wants us to be carefull and play safe. She is right it is some what a dangerouse sport because you can loose an eye but other then that it is safe. I have a video to show you ** I DID NOT MAKE IT ** becuase i have not played this week but this video shows basically what an airsoft battle really is.

There are over 100 videos made by him and they are all great so if you guys would like to see more here is a link to his youtube account and you can go watch all of them. I suggest watching them ALL

Airsoft v. Paintball

•May 12, 2008 • Leave a Comment

** HERE is another site that has this same topic **

I know what most of you are thinking. Which is better airsoft or paintball? Well i can tell. Paintball has a very high cost. First you have to buy a gun, which can range from 100 to around 2,000 dollars which for most people is out of their range. To buy the paintballs themselves are very expensive as well. Usually a good box of paint for 2,000 rounds cost you about 40 dollars off of paintballgear.com. Then comes the accesorries your going to need. Your going to have to buy a loader, which holds the paintballs and gravity feeds them through a tube into the gun in which the bolt shoots it. You will need a nitro tank or a co2 tank depending on what type of gun you have. This allows you to shoot the paintball. Then comes all the gear, jersey’s, pants, packs, pods, masks, and gloves. These just alone will cost you over 400 dollars or more depending on the types you get. That does not include the gun itself. Now to the dangers of paintball. Like anything you shoot you may loose an eye, leave welts, etc. Now for the Pro’s v. Con’s

Pro’s:

  • Fun
  • Easier to play

Con’s:

  • To expensive
  • Not Realistic
  • Messy
  • Guns are different
  • Maintenance

OVER ALL paintball gets 2 Stars **

Airsoft as we all know is extremely realistic, fun, energetic, and it definitely keeps your heart racing. Now the cost for airsoft is significantly different then paintball. You really only have to pay 200 dollars for a good gun full metal and everything. You dont have to buy any air tanks or loaders because you use a battery and a magazine (just like a real gun except the battery) which are included when you buy the gun. All you really have to buy is BB’s. Now depending on the gun you get they have a recommended sized BB you use. They can range from .12’s to .30’s but they only cost 8-15 dollars for 5,000. Now for the gear you ALWAYS have to wear eye protection that is certified by airsoft, you know so they don’t shatter or are easy to break on impact with a bb. If you get real intense like my friends and I do and go full out in military gear you can buy a full BDU (battle dress uniform) for 80 dollars for the full thing pants and jacket. You can also buy a vest for 40 dollars, a holster for 17 dollars for a sidearm if you have one, magazine pouches for about 8 dollars, a hydration pack for about 20-30 dollars, and a ghillie suite for 60 dollars.

There is also numerous amounts of accessories that you can put on the gun itself. Such as flashlights, lasers, scopes, bi-pods, rails, rail-covers, barrels, silencers, stocks, pistol grips, magazine clamps, hand grips. You can buy any of this gear and guns from any website in my Links. Now for the Pro’s v. Con’s

Pro’s

  • Realistic
  • Good price for everything
  • More accessories
  • Military gear
  • Guns are replicas of real guns
  • Get to use tatics
  • Fun
  • Energetic
  • Heart races every second
  • You get to think that your in the Military without really being in the Military

Con’s

  • NONE

OVER ALL  airsoft gets 5 Stars *****

Like what items are on the gun such as the 2 iron sights, the RIS ( Rail Intergrated System ), handguards, foregrip, etc. I describe the metal, nylon, and the abs plastic parts on the gun. I give you a quick ROF (Rate of Fire) test. I then show you what i have added to the gun such as a bi-pod, scope, new rail covers. I had filmed the video by myself and it is not that great but it does show you good parts.

Online Airsoft Stores

•April 30, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Just want to talk to you guys about an airsoft website that I’m not to happy about. Ive ordered numerous items from stores and for the most part they are reliable. Evike.com on the other had surprised me in a bad way. I had order this new 2007 Boyi m4 CQB-R from them about a little more then 3 weeks ago.

 My airsoft gun

The package had came 3-4 days later then expected and when I took off the wrapping that UPS adds the box was damaged. I then had opened and i was shocked on the out come of. it looked like they had sent me one of the shelf models and quickly threw it into the box. I tried to call them many times. Let me remind you that their store is located in California and they DO NOT have a 1-800 number which is very expensive. It came to me with no surprise that they didn’t pick up.

So then i tried emailing them and after 30-40 emails they email me back saying that it will take a couple of days for UPS to come pick it up and for them to ship out a new one. Well they said that it was all UPS’s fault. UPS came and it had taken a week and a half for them to answer me back. They have called me and told me on Monday May 5th that they have shipped out my new gun and that i can expect it to come by Friday. I feel that you might have a different experience with them but I don’t recommend them. Here are some links to websites that you can get information about Evike and where to buy the airsoft guns.
